This is the test drive and assessment of the "Automatic Charging System for EVs: 24.7 Charging" by a team of Mechanical Engineering students headed by their instructor Engr. Rowel Gallares (ME) last August 24, 2020. What supposed to be a playing time of only 1 hour and then recharge, was a continuous 5 hours running covering 71 kilometers. The battery power indicator showed it was still fully-charged. This means that it could run forever day and night at full speed without recharging (if changing dead batteries is counted out).
Our flagship project is creating a battery/electric vehicle that doesn't need plugged-in recharging because the charging system is already on-board and it could run forever (if changing dead batteries is not included) day and night at full speed. Believe it or not. The experimental prototype is successful and we are now in the stage of coming up with the product prototype. In other words, we are now through with the technology phase and we are entering the business side of the project.
